Festival Submission Rules

Here are some guidelines for submissions. Feel free to contact us with any questions.

Among our participants, a monthly winner will be chosen for each category, and some exceptional films that weren’t selected for monthly winners may receive honorable mentions.

Some of the monthly winners will be selected for our annual screening event, which will include full screenings or selected scenes from the films.

A selection of films that weren’t selected for the October event will be chosen for Winter and Spring events.

Short Films

A short film is defined as a film that lasts less than 40 minutes.

Language

A film can be submitted in any language, but English subtitles are required if it is not in English.

Multiple Entries

There is no limit to the number of entries a filmmaker can submit, and each entry can be submitted in more than one category.

Film Screenings

Your application authorizes Mannheim Arts and Film Festival to show your film, or portions of it, during the festival, but as a general rule, we won’t screen your work without your permission.

The screening events will only include a limited number of winners, either in part or entirely. Not all submissions and winners will be selected.

Films that are not selected for our annual and semi-annual events may request that links to their work and pages be published on our website.

Promotion

We may use and display your film posters and information on our website. In case you do not want it to be published, please let us know. In contrast, if you would like us to post links to your projects, email us with the details and we will do so.

Modifications to Events

Liability

You agree not to hold Manheim Arts and Film Festival responsible for any damage, loss, or liability resulting from your submission. In case you decide to withdraw your submission and remove information about your work, we will do so. However, submissions are not refundable.
